Sea Clearly….

For four years I worked with an international Research and Development firm. One of our biggest areas of interest was natural, unrefined, solar evaporated sea salt. I could literally dedicate this entire blog to this one topic.

Recent media exposure to sea salt having less sodium in it is only 1% of it’s potential health benefits. There are also benefits to sea salt that go way beyond human health, and pull significantly at the edges of fringe science. I signed a legally binding Non-Disclosure Agreement limiting many of the details that I can reveal here, but there still leaves a lot room for discussion.

In another post I talked about cells and water being “full” and “empty” in regards to their holding and carrying capacities. Modern science has gracefully allowed us mere mortals the vitamins (vital minerals) in food needed for survival. I repeat “NEEDED FOR SURVIVAL”. I did NOT say needed for an OPTIMAL life.

We had acquired spectral analysis sheets from several true sea salt companies including Celtic Sea Salt, Himalayan Sea Salt, Real Sea Salt, and DeSouza’s Solar Sea Salt. The only full analysis  available online is the Himalayan, which I linked for your convenience.

There are pros and cons to each, but in our assessment the DeSouza was the best. Their spectral analysis shows 81 of the naturally occurring elements. Guess how many naturally occurring elements there are? 81(some will argue 92). Besides those 81, there are a host of other beneficial compounds like water, etc. Now everyone run and get your bottle of vita-mins and count the total. Ten, fifteen, twenty five? HA!! Where do you think they get those vita-mins from? They leach them from the salt that they harvest, and resell them back as vitamins! If they just left the salt alone, we would have natures perfect all-mins instead of only the vita-mins, and in the perfect ratio! (Balance)

There are some colloidal bottles out there with a large number of trace elements in them, but why spend all that loot when you can skip right to the best for a fraction of the cost?

Next time you go to your health food store, or wherever you get your vitamins from, look at the long line of different bottles of calcium, copper, zinc, iodine, magnesium, silver, and on and on. They are naturally occurring in sea salt already. Not only that, but they just happen to be arranged, chemically speaking, in a perfect manner. This arrangement sets as buffers for each neighboring elements. For instance: Earlier I mentioned the dangers of chlorine… well, that isn’t 100% true. If chlorine is in its right state, and also the right dose, and buffered by other trace elements, it is very beneficial to the body. It is the pure form of chlorine, un-buffered, that causes the damage.

This is also why pure, processed, bleached, white salt is a horrible poison. Raw sodium chloride is robbed of all its buffers that helps your body utilize it.

So you find yourself on the couch, watching a movie, and craving something salty. Is this bad for you? Your brain, that gray matter that monitors and governs your total body, sends a signal that you are low in minerals. You perceive this as tasting salty. Your tongue tastes pure sodium chloride and registers that this is what is needed. Then that poison reaches the stomach and burns the snot out of it, and your stomach says “what the hell is this, it’s not what i ordered” Excessive stomach acids are hastily dumped in to try and digest it more quickly, and then you end up with heart burn. The genius scientist/doctors then tell you to take anti-acids to “help” you. But what happens? Now the stomachs natural defenses are neutralized, and the salt eats away at the stomach lining, causing ulcers. Even if you don’t take the anti-acids, the excess stomach acids will eventually damage the stomach anyways, so either way you are screwed.

I do not wish to drag this post on too long, but as you can see, there is a lot to talk about here. I will continue this conversation another day.
