Where to Begin?

You have been interested in turning over a new leaf in regards to physical and mental health, but where do you begin? Do you work on mind issues first and then start exercising or do you fix diet first and then go to body? Perhaps there is a balanced solution for maximizing your time?

Unfortunately, every situation is different for each person. However, there are a few guidelines that I go by that may help you figure out what your first steps should be.

A person can make a resolution to start working out, and may even start off on the right foot, but what happens? They run out of energy very quickly, they lack motivation, they get bored, distracted, and now they have stopped altogether. What is the problem and what is the solution?

A lot of health enthusiasts say you should start with meditation, yoga, stretching and such first, and that is supposed to prepare you mentally. But what happens if a person is tired, has poor focus abilities, has body aches and pains, cramps, other distractions? Meditation will work for those issues IF you already have the discipline to meditate.

So now what do you do? The answer is simple: gradually start changing what you eat and drink, and also flush out the built up waste and toxins.

WATER!!!

Water is one of the key components to ALL life. There are many bacteria and viruses that can live without oxygen, but we ALL need water. Water acts like a delivery service for inputting good nutrients and vitamins, but also acts like a garbage truck, removing junk and trash from the body.

Not all water is created equal however. When they first started adding chlorine to water, it was a quick fix to avoid many parasites and diseases from spreading. Unfortunately, chlorine is a very poisonous substance that is not beneficial to the body.(click any chlorine word for verification). I am not going to go into all the risks that chlorine possess here, but I just want you to be aware.

Fluoride is another EXTREMELY dangerous substance, in fact it is so dangerous that it is listed above lead in the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet). If there ever was a good reason for a class action lawsuit, the people of the United States VS. the FDA seems appropriate. One of the major issues with fluoride is that it hinders the thyroid gland… which is responsible for metabolism. (why people are skinny or fat) Fluorine reacts with almost every known substance, especially organic materials (flesh and skin, organs), causes severe oxidation, and causes burns that are very slow to heal. Later I will link this to cholesterol build up and heart disease, but for now let it be known that fluoride is very bad for you.

There are countless other “additives” that are dumped into our drinking supply, none of which are good for us, but what is the alternative? Well water would be nice, but most of us do not have access to it. Bottled spring water is an option, but how do we know for sure what is in it? I have done sample testing on various bottled waters and found traces of chlorine in it. You could buy a water distiller, but they are loud, expensive, energy inefficient and bulky. The water is very clean and pure, but unless you use solar distillation, it is a royal pain in the butt.
Personally I use a Reverse Osmosis (R/O) filter. The main cartridge is rated for 30,000 gallons, more than I use in two or three years. I looked at all of the mainstream models and companies, but ironically I went with one from the pet industry. The company is called Coralife and the filter is called Pure-Flo II – 3 Canister System. They retail for about $200 – $300, but the quality is by far the best I have seen. A professional water testing company tested my water and was amazed at the cleanliness. I am not affiliated with them in any way, I receive NO money from talking about this product. You may go with whatever brand you want, just do the research first.

Again, this is still only another temporary fix. Much better than any other normal option, but still not the best. Reason being is that it is TOO clean if you can understand. I cannot get into what the best is at this time, it will be under the Techno-logic tab in the future.

The problem with too clean water is that it can flush out your cells more than is necessary. It isn’t a problem if you eat a regular and normal diet, but if you do food fasting, you could hurt yourself.
Let me explain. What happens when two holes in the sand are dug, one is filled with water, but then they are connected? The water rushes to fill the other hole. What is REALLY happening? Balance. The water pressure is balancing between the two holes. What happens if both holes have the same amount of water and then they are connected? Nothing. The same thing happens between cells and water. Whichever one is more “filled” with stuff (like vitamins or waste) dumps into the other one to create balance. So you drink a glass of water, it picks up vitamins and minerals from food and is carried to the cells. The cell is full of waste, the water is full of vitamins, and the two balance out. The difference between the two is what is exchanged from the cell to the water, and back again. The water continues its path until it is urinated out of the body.

Any other forms of liquids, like pop, orange juice, milk, wine, beer, etc are ALREADY full. I am not saying that milk or orange juice is bad, but you cannot expect them to deliver very many nutrients from your food to you cells. They have their own nutrients to carry (or toxins when pop is concerned) and will not pick up any more. This is why water is so important, especially during or right after a meal.

Now imagine that you have been fasting for a few days, and there is nothing in your stomach. You drink a glass of super clean water (empty), it enters the stomach and picks up no nutrients. It travels to the cell that is full, and the cell dumps everything to try and equalize. The first few cycles of this will result in a very nice cleansing effect and removing a LOT of built up toxins, garbage and other waste. If this is continued for too long, the cells won’t be able to retain the stored nutrients, because it will be forced to balance with the empty water. The cells end up becoming empty and starve to death. Don’t let Reverse Osmosis frighten you though, this only happens if you decide to fast for extended periods of time. If you do, drink the R/O for the first day or so to flush out the crap, then switch to spring water, or add some raw, solar-evaporated sea salt to your R/O. (more on sea salt later)

I still wash my dishes and clothes in tap water, but all drinking and cooking water is filtered. My shower head has a de-chlorinating copper based filter on it. Chlorine is dangerous to drink, but it is 10 times worse to get it on your skin and inhale the fumes.

So by simply consuming more water, and switching the source that you get it, your body will be getting a healthy delivery of vitamins more regularly, you will have less toxins that slow you down, and your metabolism will speed up since your thyroid isn’t being attacked.
