Placebo
When a drug is being tested for marketability, scientists use what’s called a double blind test. Everyone is first told what the pill is supposed to do, what the side effects can be, and how they will feel. A portion of the “real” drugs are actually switched with a sugar type pill, in others words inert. Neither the clients or the scientists know which pill is which, hence the name double blind.
Somewhere between 30% and 80% of those people that take the SUGAR pill get relief from whatever symptoms they are there to treat.
Wait a moment, 30% to 80%, that is staggering! That means for every 100 people that have a problem, 30 to 80 of those are helped with nothing more than the power of their own mind. The numbers vary from test to test, but the lowest is USUALLY around 30% and the highest that I have found are 80%. Wikipedia has some enlightening info about this, but there coincidentally is not a lot of info to prove either way. (because pharmaceutical companies don’t want this known)
This test is done for EVERY pill that is to hit the market. Think about what pills are used to treat. Headaches, nausea, stress, anxiety, ulcers, infections, A.D.D, ALLERGIES, asthma, arthritis, insomnia, depression, weight control, energy, smoking, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc etc etc…
30 to 80 out of every 100 of those test subjects get better from their own natural defenses triggered by their mind.
Now let’s flip the coin here and say that 30 to 80 percent of EVERY condition is completely made up. Believe, Perceive, Repeat.
When I was young, it was illegal to advertise drugs directly to consumers. Reason being that consumers are not educated enough to understand what a drug is for, and what it is supposed to do. Nowadays you cannot watch TV for 10 minutes without being bombarded by drugs ads. Not only that, they word their ads in a way that becomes hypnotic in nature, and convinces you that you have those symptoms. Impossible you say? Maybe from seeing only one or two ads, yes. But let’s say you watch a show for one hour a day, 5 days a week. Every ten minutes there is one ad for a “sleep disorder” or “erectile dysfunction“. That is 30 times a week that you are being covertly hit with these suggestions, yes, I said suggestions. How many of you are disciplined enough to watch only one hour of TV per day?
The danger isn’t when you are aware of the ads, the real danger is when you become oblivious to them. Then they bypass your critical factor (the crap filter in your sub-conscious mind) and slip right in to your unconscious mind, and you begin to Believe it.
Believe, Perceive, Repeat.
Now you start noticing that it takes you a few more minutes to fall asleep than normal. Perceive. As you notice this happening, you Believe it more… maybe I have that problem, maybe I need that pill. Five minutes becomes ten, ten becomes thirty, and now you cannot sleep. Repeat.
Time for the doctor… who gets kickbacks for every X amount of people he/she gets prescribed to their pills.(like some schools get for children on pills). Now we have patients going into a doctors office and demanding that they get X pill because they feel like they have those symptoms. Doctor doesn’t want to lose a paying client, and succumbs to the pressure.
Ever wonder about all those side effects that they announce after the commercial? They are NOT a warning, it is MORE programming. If you take X pill for headaches, and now you Perceive ulcers, you get put on ANOTHER drug to help with the side effects… and so on = More Money.
And the whole time you totally forgot about the freaking commercial.
Same thing with erectile dysfunction… drink some water, do some squats, go for a walk, all better. Believe, Perceive, Repeat.
Who knows? Maybe ALL of the drugs are merely Placebo….

What is the moral of the story, and how does it connect with the first few posts about Mind n Body? The moral is that YOU make or break your own health and well-being. You want to be sick all of the time? Keep watching TV and unconsciously believe the ads. You want to be healthy and strong? Understand my words and Believe, Perceive, Repeat. Your choice.

A new friend of mind, that goes by the blog name AxiomWolf, recently posted an article about Placebo and it’s effects. The post, ironically is called Mind v Body (as opposed to my Mind N Body) and further expands on what I have written here. Take a few moments to check out his article.
