Jingle Poets Awards week 17
For those of you that do not know about the Thursday Poets Rally is really missing out. What a great way to meet new people, read a variety of writing styles, and get your own stuff posted.
This is my first week, and there are Three nominations to give out.
First I nominate Ediomo Udofia’s poem “Locked in a dungeon” with the “Poet with the best potential” award. Congratulations!
Next I Award Dom Colucci with the “Best Attitude” award for his short but stunning poem called Power Centers on Love
Last but not least is the award for “Best Comments” which goes to the poem “my two friends” by Lynnlivelaughlove. I will quote the comment that made me pick for this award “yeah that kinda rocked my face off…nicely done.” by Brian (not me)
Awesome job everyone, way to go.

Magpie Tales
this creepy eye keeps looking at me
who the hell knows what it sees
it sees me wherever i go
who the hell knows what it knows
this staring gaze floating in space
who the hell knows where is this place
so crazy it never blinks
who the hell knows what it thinks
this staring contest it has won
who the hell knows when it is done

MicroFiction Monday #29
What an awesome concept! MicroFiction Mondays is a contest where random text is placed to go along with a picture. Rules are no more than 140 words, and links must be relative. Here is my first attempt.
Rodeo “Man, this leather kilt is twisting my underwear.”
Brendon “!!! You’re supposed to use underwear with these?!?!”

Poems about life struggles NEW 5May2010
I have FOUR days off in a row this week, and full of words to write for your reading pleasure. (or pain)
This post is a simple summary of two poems that I added to my blog. Click the highlighted links to journey to their resting place, and read until your heart is content.
Starting off this mini vacation was a special request for more poems in the Words of a Madman section. There hasn’t been a whole lot of viewing going on here, but the few that are seem to be very intrigued. Hopefully I have done my duty by adding not one, but two new writings. This may or may not be for you, but I hope you at least check them out.
They are not really new, actually. I wrote them while on board the U.S.S. Milius(1998 – 1999) during a time of great sorrow and loneliness. I am way over all of that now, but the echo can still be heard sometimes.
These are not poems about love, or poems about death, but in fact poems about myself and how I was viewing the world at that time.
The first one, titled “Earth Contractions“, was written while I was floating in the Persian Gulf. At the time it seemed like everyone was full of hate, fighting would not stop, and the whole world was coming to an end. Well, I made it through, and ironically the earth is still here… LOL
The second one is titled “Mocking Reflection” and is one of my most creative works. There are secrets hidden within it, and contains more than meets the eye. Let’s see if anyone can solve the mystery… there are in fact, two sides to every coin.
